Carol DuBosch is teaching Bone—the Bookhand with a Twist!
In this weekend workshop Carol will teach a contemporary letterform
which is known as "BONE" because of the bone-like shape of
the basic pen-manipulated stroke. These letters are fun to write and
are the perfect casual choice for many creative projects. The BONE
alphabet is a wonderful exercise in pen-twisting and designing the
spaces within and around letters. Students will learn the script and
then explore its variations and expressive applications. Some experience
with the broad-edged pen is necessary.
Supply List: Automatic pen (#4 or #5), non-waterproof ink (Higgins
Eternal is fine), 11"x17" bond paper, ruler, pencil, cotton
rag, water jar.
About the instructor: Carol DuBosch teaches calligraphy full-time
in Portland, Oregon. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge
