Design and Layout with Martin Jackson

Okay, so now we have an alphabet or two, and the next challenge is how we use these alphabets to make beautiful calligraphic panels. Using a series of simple steps, we will explore the various layout options available, to help us create calligraphy which has visual beauty, balance, and harmony. Colour, space, texture, and the choice of tools and materials will all be discussed, and a project will be completed.
About the instructor: Martin Jackson has been a graphic designer and calligrapher for over fifty years. For the past thirty years, he has been teaching calligraphy in Canada, the US, Belgium, Australia and Japan, including four international conferences.
