The lively
character and contemporary look of pointed brush letters makes them enjoyable
to write and give this script practcal & creative
use.
This workshop will introduce students to the potential of the pointed
brush as a calligraphic tool. Beginning with a study of a basic script
based upon italic pen letters, students will then move on to experiment
with increasingly free variations. Consideration will be given to
creative applications as original work, reproduced work and layout
possibilities.
This class is open to beginners; no experience with pen or brush
is necessary. The basic instruction will enable beginners to explore
the joy of making beautiful letters by hand. A more experienced student
will benefit from study of this simple, yet intricate form of calligraphy.
