Please join Colleen Cavin for a repeat of that smelly workshop offered
several years ago using alkyd paints. We will use PVA, gouache and
those odoriferous paints on paper to build up layers of letters and
glaze that differ in appearance to that of acrylic glazing. Alkyd paints
are fast drying oil paints thinned with mineral spirits, so be forewarned.
We will be working in a well-ventilated covered outdoor area when working
with alkyd paints. The cost of all alkyd paints will be included with
workshop fee. Each of us will build up a few pieces of calligraphic
depth and sumptuousness.
Supplies: Bring favorite pens, paint brushes, gouache, waterproof
inks, stout papers and words. An apron is highly recommended.
