Entries/Jurying process

The jurying committee is made up of individuals associated with the Doll Gardner Gallery.

Artists are asked to submit JPEG images (approximately 900K in size) of the work that is to be shown to Meri Taylor. JPEGs are preferred as they are the easiest to be viewed by all members of our jurying committee. Please note: to avoid issues surrounding copyright infringement, artists agree that all work shown in the gallery represent their own original work.

April 15 is the deadline for submission. E-mail entries to Meri Taylor.

Image should be in color, and one image of each piece should show the entire artwork. One additional file showing detail of each work may also be sent. Send only one piece of artwork per e-mail. The body of each e-mail the message should include:

  • Artist's name
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • Title of the piece of artwork
  • Price
  • Materials used
  • Approximate Size
If you need assistance with digital photos of your work please contact Meri Taylor at meriscribe@comcast.net or 503-645-6328.

Pricing and Sales

The commission schedule of 25% provides an excellent opportunity for the artist. The gallery percentage reflects our philosophy of supporting artists, particularly emerging artists. The artist agrees to pay commission on any sales generated as a direct result of the show, including commissioned work, regardless of when payment is made to the artist. Sales checks are made payable to the artist and the commission is expected at the close of the show.

Eligibility

All current members of the Portland Society for Calligraphy are eligible to submit.
