08 Monday • 7-9 p.m. • PSC Monthly Meeting • St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church • Yearning for Black with Colleen Cavin • Black on Black (All Levels): In addition to the usual drama of light on dark, experience writing with different black inks and paints on a variety of black papers. Supplies: a favorite dip nib, either edged or pointed, favorite black ink, a favorite black gouache (W&N, Pelikan, Grumbacher, Schminke any kind... they will all be different). A soft drawing pencil might be good too.

Ken O'Connell, Professor Emeritus of the University of Oregon and President of Imagination International /COPIC Markers will show us his sketchbooks and a number of techniques using the large line of COPIC Markers. He also wants the members to try out many of these materials and so please come ready to experiment. Bring your sketchbooks if you like. Ken has taught workshops in Sketchbooks in the USA and Italy. He will teach at SITKA Center near Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast and and is planning another Italy trip in the summer of 2008. Ken will be taking pre-orders of COPIC products for his visit. 18 Tuesday • Lloyd Reynolds special collection tour • 3:30-5 p.m. • Reed College library • Special event: Though we don't have a regular meeting in December, we have arranged a special holiday treat for you! Join us at the Reed College library, where Gay Walker will show us highlights of the special collection featuring the books & art of Lloyd Reynolds. We'll begin by viewing his personal library and the notes he's written in the margins, but spend most of our time in the archives to look at his scribble books and examples of his work. This special event is on Tuesday, December 18, from 3:30-5 p.m.
